Recipe: Ketam Masak Lemak Cili Api

Assalamualaikum.

Resepi asal dari Che Nom (terima kasih kak! sedap sangat~)

(Hidangan untuk 2 orang makan)

Bahan-bahan:
  • 2 ekor ketam segar dibelah dua
  • 1 batang serai, dititik
  • 1 helai daun kunyit, dicarik
  • 2 cawan santan pekat (bersamaan 500ml)
  • 1 keping asam keping
Bahan untuk dikisar halus:
  • 10-15 biji cili api kampung
  • 2 biji cili merah
  • Setengah biji bawang besar
  • 1 inci kunyit hidup
  • 3 biji bawang merah
  • 3 ulas bawang putih
Penyediaan:

3. Api masih perlahan, kacau sentiasa supaya tidak berketul. (kalau masak lemak memang kena rajin kacau) Masukkan asam keping, serai dan daun kunyit.
4. Masukkan garam dan masak sehingga mendidih.

Ketam dan bahan kisar

Best tau makan lauk ketam masak lemak cili api ni.. hidang sekali dengan ulam, sambal belacan, ikan terubuk masin sarawak. Tapi yang peliknya, kuah masak lemak saya ni jadi manis.. takde pun letak gula. Rasa manisnya tu macam kita letak labu. Mungkin rasa manis ketam?

Sambal belacan + ulam raja
Ikan terubuk masin sarawak goreng garing + bawang besar + cili api

Terima kasih hubby sebab tolong bersihkan ketam.. masa nak masak ni, nasib baik dia inspect ketam tu dulu. Pasir tak hilang lagi, ketam tak belah dua, dengan getah gelung yang ikat kaki ketam pun tak buang habis.. dah kena bebel :p

Selain ketam, hubby memang suka makan ikan masin dan sambal belacan. Ulam tu je saya makan sorang-sorang. Happy betul bila tengok hubby makan bertambah. Berselera. Ada satu feeling yang rasa best sangat, lepas ni nak masak sedap-sedap lagi! J

Tips Memilih Wedding Photographer/Videographer

Assalamualaikum, hi dearies!

For those who are getting married (Congratulations!) and seeking photographer/videographer, these are the tips that I can share with you based on my experience.

Tips for choosing wedding photographer/videographer:
1. Know your budget.
2. Check for their work on Web, Instagram, Facebook, any social media. Use you stalking skills!
3.  Editing skills. Penting tau.. tapi jangan la jenis yang over edit sampai muka macam kartun. Kalau tak reti edit pun bahaya, nanti kesian la gambar yang hitam berminyak takda sapa nak cerahkan :p
4. Read the reviews from their previous client
5. Make price comparison with the items and package offered
Contoh: album berapa page, types of finishing for the album cover – leather/kaca/etc, coverage photographer/videographer dari pukul berapa, etc)
6. Mileage - transportation cost. Included ke tak and how much?
7. Video - berapa minit?

Important for you to discuss with them your expectations. Kalau boleh untuk video tak perlu berlakon (kena salam banyak kali ke) let it be natural. Pelik tau bila berlakon ni, jadi tak cantik.

A good photographer can take nice pictures even with a bad surrounding/condition if they know how to apply the right angle and camera setting.

Make sure before the photographer print out your album, you CHOOSE and CONFIRMED first your pictures, and also the arrangement. In my case, I didn’t get the chance to choose the pictures for my album which end up ada gambar yang tutup mata dan tak clear. It’s even sadder because when I check the softcopy, they actually got a lot of other better pictures!  I just don’t know why they choose the wrong pictures. Maybe they didn’t check before printing? L Sad but past is past, I don’t want you guys to experience the same thing okay? J

Maybe your budget is very tight and you want to choose the cheapest among all your existing choices but, bear in mind that don’t ever compensate price with quality. Ada yang offer murah tapi gambar tak cantik, ada yang mahal tapi output superb.. Banyak aspek untuk di consider but still, depends on you. Any decision that you made - make sure jangan menyesal dikemudian hari.

Like my uncle said – “mahal ada sebab, murah ada sebab.”

So choose carefully ok?

I hope this helps, and you’ll get the best wedding photographer/videographer ever. J

Nasi Lemak with Love (with recipe)

Assalamualaikum.

Resepi sambal ikan bilis saya refer blog Kak Azie - Sambal Tumis Ikan Bilis Sebagai Lauk Nasi Lemak (Memang sedap! Terima kasih kak)

Bahan-bahan masak nasi lemak rice cooker:

3 cawan beras
3 cawan santan segar
1 cawan air
2 ikat daun pandan
Beberapa hiris halia
Garam secukup rasa

Basuh beras. Tambahkan semua bahan dalam beras dan masak seperti biasa.

Timun? Saya suka timun jepun sebab tak pahit.

Untuk kepekatan santan hubby suka pekat so lepasni semua pakai santan je tak perlu tambah air. Kalau tak suka santan banyak, boleh kurangkan, ikut taste masing-masing.

Cerita nasi lemak:
Well, I've promised to cook nasi lemak for hubby, janjinya masa tu nak buat esok pagi tapi terbabas bangun lewat so memang tak sempat nak masak. Sedih la jugak bila dia tanya nasi lemak pagi tu... Terasa loser, dah janji tapi tak masak..

Malam tu memang tidur ayam je, takut tak bangun awal. Esoknya berjaya bangun awal (yes!) dan lagi best, hubby pun tolong sekali buat sambal ikan bilis.

We did it! Rasa pun sedap, so yeah.. Nailed it! First time tau masak nasi lemak untuk si dia... ;)

Bekal untuk ofis for Mr Hubby -Nasi lemak with love~
Mine!

p/s: Ada satu feeling yang best bila orang enjoy makan apa yang kita masak lebih-lebih lagi orang yang kita sayang. J

Wondermama (Avenue K/Bangsar Village)

Assalamualaikum.

Spicy Chicken Salad. Pic courtesy of Paula. Thanks dear!
I've been to Wondermama several times and started to fall in love.. with their awesome Spicy Chicken Salad. Thanks to Paula for made me try this. Serious kenyang, jangan risau even it's just a salad. Rasa dia pedas pedas masam dengan sos sesame, bertambah sedap dengan ayam goreng panas dan sayuran yang segar!

Their bandung drink is awesome - because it's so refreshing and less sweet, although the intensity of the pink colour is quite strong.

Not to forget the curry laksa - sedap woih. Sedap sama macam curry laksa Sisters, G Tower.

Curry Laksa
The rest of the dishes are not disappointing I must say. Their service (Avenue K branch) is pretty fast, and I still remember this waiter - a Chinese lady who just didn't stop smiling to the customers although it's peak hours and she need to deal with hungry customers queuing (looong que) outside the restaurant. Yes, hungry people can be scary, and I'm one of them...

The waiting time for food is tolerable (they take your order while in que and the food will be served when you get the seat.)

Rojak ada taugeh~ nothing so special about the sauce, it's just like normal petis (prawn paste) sauce

I've managed to taste a dessert in Bangsar Village branch, the Nangka Sticky Rice with Ice Cream. I'm loving it! No pictures cause I'm so indulged~ ok la, here's from the web, it's exactly like this:

Nangka Sticky rice with Ice Cream

Overall I'm happy with their food, would love to bring my family to dine here some time.

Thanks for the good food!

Kyra's Rainbow Birthday at Greenhouse by Muir (+ delicious rainbow cake from CakeSense!)

Assalamualaikum.

I'm on sick leave today, after medication I feel lot better. The weather is super hot, make sure minum banyak air! Stay hydrated. Looking through my pictures, I came across Kyra's birthday photos. It's one of the sweet memory with #plisisters and I think I want to put it in my blog.

Masa ni I've actually a bit busy so most of the deco was done by Farhana (good job!). My part was giving ideas - I've suggested 'Rainbow' as the theme. :)

Greenhouse by Muir review - nice ambience, mediocre food, a bit expensive but the portion is huge. Satu pinggan pasta boleh kongsi 2 orang. Excellent service from the crew - sporting sangat. They help us and be a part of the surprise crew for Kyra - bagi hint bila Kyra sampai + record video from her arrival until the surprise part. Thank you so much!

Sandwich
Lamb pasta. Beef pasta lagi sedap..
I think it's a nice place for a special date, proposal and celebrations.

Purposely enlarged this because it's so cute

Doorgift - home made chocolate cake by Juju
The best rainbow cake ever!
I'm not a rainbow cake fan but seriously, this cake from CakeSense taste so good! Unlike normal cake where the layers seems like it was painted by bad artifical watercolour, the colour looks so natural, fluffy cake and less sweet. I just love it!

Picture session with the VIP

Geng sampai awal~

Happy Birthday Kyra!
Perasan tak the colour arrangement? Saja susun macam tu to get the rainbow effect. :p

Kesian Kyra, she just came back from Melaka tiba tiba kena teman member jumpa kawan (surprise plan). We actually hide untuk terkejutkan dia but she knew there's something fishy sebab abang waiter dah standby kat entrance dengan fon untuk record. Hahaha.

Until then.

Dolly Dim Sum, Avenue K

Assalamualaikum.

It's hard to find delicious, halal dim sum. So far Dolly Dim Sum is the best place that feeds my dim sum craving, although most of my Chinese friends told me it wasn't the best. Some says "tak sedap lah~ Got better place but can't bring you, it's not halal :( " So yeah Dolly, you are the best for me.

The menu

My top picks (warning - tasty and yummeh!):

Steamed Szechuan Dumpling. Tasty, spicy. Not so spicy for me but Rose seems to find it a bit hot?
Fried Salad Prawn Dumpling
The inside of our fried salad prawn dumpling
Steamed Egg Custard Bun
I love you, Mr Egg Custard Bun *cried
Steamed Radish Cake.
We enjoyed the radish cake except for one of our colleague. Tak boleh masuk. Loya. So her portion belongs to us! Yayyy~

So there goes the best dish. The drinks and congee are average to my liking.

Salted Egg and Chicken Congee. It reminds me of bubur ayam McD
Homemade Barley Water with Lime. Refreshing, we like it
Watermelon with Lychee Munchies.
For watermelon with lychee munchies, sadly no lychee munchies! Just the lychee deco on top :( Not worth for RM9.80 per drink. Juiceworks' watermelon with lychee satisfy even more.

Thai Style Fried Rice. Not recommended. It's too sweet with a lot of onion

We were here during lunch hour, the restaurant is a bit crowded but happily, fast service provided. The waiters are quite friendly as well. Will love to come here again (someone is craving for the egg custard bun). Awaiting pay day~

Honeymoon at The Lakehouse, Cameron Highlands

Assalamualaikum.

Simple and sweet :) *long post* scroll to the end, if you dare :P

The Lakehouse was amazing. Well it actually depends on the purpose of your vacation to Cameron. Out of all the hotels, this is the best for lovebirds - honeymoon or if you need to run away from the hustle and bustle of city life. I recommend this place to couples ;)

Advisable to park your car at the 1st floor, it is nearer to the reception. Free car wash every morning!
Entrance to our room. We stayed here on 22 - 24 December 2015, hence the christmas decoration

Fireplace~ at night we just sat there and chit chatting. Such a warm feeling..

To the room!
The moment we step in the hotel, it feels like being in different country - we are no longer in Malaysia! The decoration was simple and elegant, plus with romantic ambience, very relaxing, surrounded by Cameron's fresh air... it's just so good.

We took 3D2N Intimate Honeymoon Package 2015&2016, a bit pricey but worth it! The room (deluxe) was a bit small but it was cosy, clean and smells good! Very comfortable in every way. The toiletries are so good - I love their cinnamon soap and moisturizer! The scent really stays... Since this is a honeymoon trip, they decorated the room with 68 stalks of fresh roses - adding to the sweet smell.

Loving the combination!
Buttercookies with orange and apples
Coffee-machine inside the room
The view from our room. The top building is where the expensive suites (Cameron & Foster Suites) are located.
Our room was close to the road but peaceful still :)
Posing in front of the building - where Cameron & Foster Suites are located

Adding to the awesomeness is the food. For breakfast, go with Nasi Lemak. You will not regret it. Ikan bilis rangup, sambal tak pedas sangat, timun fresh, nasi cukup rasa, ayam goreng panas~~ can u imagine..?

Nasi Lemak by The Lakehouse. Drooling~
Omelette
Lakehouse Big Breakfast
Muesli with fresh strawberry
Beauty.
Our breakfast table
The breakfast selection

Fresh honey!
For this package it’s inclusive of candlelight dinner and steamboat dinner. Please don’t skip this.

Since I am so indulged with my meal, this is the only picture that I have~ it's good, believe me
Steamboat for two. The soup (both chicken soup and tomyam) was delicious. Oh, beware of  the tomyam peeps! Spicyyy
Fresh Cameron veggies

And.. the thing that I really looking forward to - the complimentary afternoon tea! Having your afternoon tea overlooking the hills with cold-fresh air..with your loved ones ;)

Scones with fresh cream!!! Scones scones scones
Nyums

Enough gastronomy. Let's take a bit walk shall we? ;)

Birds need a room too
Private place! Love it
Storybook scene

Sorry for the flowers pic spam. Minah bunga katakan :')

While writing this, I can't help smiling looking through all the pictures (most of it not in here~ :P ). InsyaAllah, I would love to come here again. Trying different menu for my dinner perhaps?

Check out The Lakehouse for reservation.
