Nasi Lemak with Love (with recipe)

Assalamualaikum.

Resepi sambal ikan bilis saya refer blog Kak Azie - Sambal Tumis Ikan Bilis Sebagai Lauk Nasi Lemak (Memang sedap! Terima kasih kak)

Bahan-bahan masak nasi lemak rice cooker:

3 cawan beras
3 cawan santan segar 
1 cawan air
2 ikat daun pandan
Beberapa hiris halia
Garam secukup rasa 

Basuh beras. Tambahkan semua bahan dalam beras dan masak seperti biasa. 

Timun? Saya suka timun jepun sebab tak pahit.

Untuk kepekatan santan hubby suka pekat so lepasni semua pakai santan je tak perlu tambah air. Kalau tak suka santan banyak, boleh kurangkan, ikut taste masing-masing.

Cerita nasi lemak:
Well, I've promised to cook nasi lemak for hubby, janjinya masa tu nak buat esok pagi tapi terbabas bangun lewat so memang tak sempat nak masak. Sedih la jugak bila dia tanya nasi lemak pagi tu... Terasa loser, dah janji tapi tak masak..

Malam tu memang tidur ayam je, takut tak bangun awal. Esoknya berjaya bangun awal (yes!) dan lagi best, hubby pun tolong sekali buat sambal ikan bilis.

We did it! Rasa pun sedap, so yeah.. Nailed it! First time tau masak nasi lemak untuk si dia... ;)

Wondermama (Avenue K/Bangsar Village)

I've been to Wondermama several times and started to fall in love.. with their awesome Spicy Chicken Salad. Thanks to Paula for made me try this. Serious kenyang, jangan risau even it's just a salad. Rasa dia pedas pedas masam dengan sos sesame, bertambah sedap dengan ayam goreng panas dan sayuran yang segar! 

Their bandung drink is awesome - because it's so refreshing and less sweet, although the intensity of the pink colour is quite strong.


Not to forget the curry laksa - sedap woih. Sedap sama macam curry laksa Sisters, G Tower.

The rest of the dishes are not disappointing I must say. Their service (Avenue K branch) is pretty fast, and I still remember this waiter - a Chinese lady who just didn't stop smiling to the customers although it's peak hours and she need to deal with hungry customers queuing (looong que) outside the restaurant. Yes, hungry people can be scary, and I'm one of them...

The waiting time for food is tolerable (they take your order while in que and the food will be served when you get the seat.)

Rojak ada taugeh~ nothing so special about the sauce, it's just like normal petis (prawn paste) sauce



I've managed to taste a dessert in Bangsar Village branch, the Nangka Sticky Rice with Ice Cream. I'm loving it! No pictures cause I'm so indulged~ ok la, here's from the web, it's exactly like this:

Overall I'm happy with their food, would love to bring my family to dine here some time.

Dolly Dim Sum, Avenue K

Assalamualaikum.


It's hard to find delicious, halal dim sum. So far Dolly Dim Sum is the best place that feeds my dim sum craving, although most of my Chinese friends told me it wasn't the best. Some says "tak sedap lah~ Got better place but can't bring you, it's not halal :( " So yeah Dolly, you are the best for me.

The menu

My top picks (warning - tasty and yummeh!):

Steamed Szechuan Dumpling. Tasty, spicy. Not so spicy for me but Rose seems to find it a bit hot?
Fried Salad Prawn Dumpling

Steamed Radish Cake.
We enjoyed the radish cake except for one of our colleague. Tak boleh masuk. Loya. So her portion belongs to us! Yayyy~

So there goes the best dish. The drinks and congee are average to my liking.

Homemade Barley Water with Lime. Refreshing, we like it
Watermelon with Lychee Munchies.
For watermelon with lychee munchies, sadly no lychee munchies! Just the lychee deco on top :( Not worth for RM9.80 per drink. Juiceworks' watermelon with lychee satisfy even more.

Thai Style Fried Rice. Not recommended. It's too sweet with a lot of onion

We were here during lunch hour, the restaurant is a bit crowded but happily, fast service provided. The waiters are quite friendly as well. Will love to come here again (someone is craving for the egg custard bun). Awaiting pay day~

Recipe: Cheesekut Marie/Simple Tiramisu/Simple Cheese Cake

Assalamualaikum.

My first cheesekut. 
Hello there. Thank you so much to my lovely Kiera for this recipe. First time rasa cheesekut ni dekat open house beliau, terus jatuh cinta (bayangkan emoticon yang ada mata bentuk love tu) dan berazam untuk menuntut ilmu dengan beliau. So let me share this with you, sedap weh betul. Satu portion cheesekut ni aku boleh habis sorang *godzilla* let's not talk about the calories. Tehee

Ingredients:

  • 500g Tatura Cream Cheese
  • Susu pekat F&N (separuh tin sahaja yang digunakan takut muak. suka manis? letak la semua. )
  • Satu sudu besar jus lemon
  • Biskut Marie (Cappucino - this is how the tiramisu taste came up!) cap ping pong
  • Susu segar dutch lady kotak kecil (lowfat/fullcream up to you)
Tatura Cream Cheese 500g RM15.05 at Jaya Grocer
How to:
  1. Pukul cream cheese sampai kembang. Tak payah lama sangat, janji dah tak berketul. On the mixer guna level 1-2 pun dah ok.
  2. Masukkan susu pekat F&N, pukul lagi hingga sebati.
  3. Masukkan jus lemon dan sambung pukul sebati.
  4. Sediakan bekas, lap kering. 
  5. Ambil sekeping biskut marie, masukkan dalam plastik kuih lutsinar dan hancurkan. Serbuk biskut ni untuk ditabur atas kek last sekali.
  6. Ambil biskut marie, celup sekejap (sekejap je tau!) dalam susu segar dan susun dalam bekas. Jangan malas sangat, celup sekeping, susun. Celup, susun lagi.Penuhkan lapisan biskut dan layerkan dengan cream cheese. Layerkan nipis je tapi meliputi keseluruhan biskut.
  7. Ulang celup dan layer sampai habis semua biskut marie tu. Baki cheese tuang akhir sekali, tebal tebal pun takpe.
  8. Taburkan serbuk biskut marie yang dah dihancurkan tadi.
  9. Tutup bekas, masukkan dalam fridge tempat beku selama 12 jam.
Siap!

Masa nak makan biarkan cheesekut anda dalam suhu bilik sekejap lepastu bolehlah dipotong. Tips potong cheesekut? Rendam pisau dalam air panas, lap dengan tisu, dan baru potong kek.

*mixer aku tak stable, tengah-tengah je bahagian cream dapat dipukul. Tepi-tepian tak kena so aku keluarkan dari kepala dan gerakkan mixer secara manual. Pukul satu arah je tau!

I did 5 layers in each bekas kuih raya. Managed to get 3 cakes and one small part

After 12 hours, serve!


Kek batu bata

This is the best, economy cake so far. Sedap! Try lah buat. Have fun layering. Maybe for topping boleh ganti strawberry/nuts ke? Thank you for reading this post. :)

Recipe: Simple Mashed Potatoes/Kentang Putar

Assalamualaikum!

Greetings.

I love mashed potatoes – homemade. Dah try buat dan menjadi! Best lagi buat sendiri sebab murah dan dapat banyak. Ada lebih boleh simpan dalam fridge. Let me share the recipe~ (kalau lupa boleh rujuk dekat blog sendiri.)

Ingredients:
  • 10 biji kentang – potong dadu, rebus 30 minit (air penuh, sampai kentang lembut)
  •  250g butter Farmcow – I use half of it
  • Susu Dutch Lady low fat 300ml *if nak lebih susu dengan butter pun boleh, up to you*
  • Lada hitam kasar
  • Garam 2 sudu kecil
For gravy: (for those who have better recipe for gravy, do share because mine is so simple)
  • Kiub ayam knorr - 2 kiub
  • Air panas 400ml
  • Tepung jagung 3 sudu, bancuh dengan sedikit air. Nak pekat lagi, lebihkan tepung jagung
  • Bawang putih 2 ulas
  • Bawang besar sebiji
  • 3 sudu butter

*Bawang putih dan bawang besar chop nipis*

How to:
  1. Rebus kentang 30 minit, toskan airnya dan letak sekejap atas dapur untuk keringkan lagi air yang ada dalam periuk kentang.
  2. Hancurkan kentang yang dah direbus tu, guna botol sos cili yang dah diwrap dengan plastic. Botol sos tu basuh bersih-bersih, wrap dengan plastic bersih, then yeahh mash the potatoes hingga lumat.
  3. Masukkan butter ketika kentang still panas, butter will melt easily and lagi senang nak mash.
  4. Masukkan susu. Kuantiti butter dan susu ikut tukang masak nak kurang ke atau nak lebih creamy – put extra.
  5. Masukkan garam dan lada hitam kasar, mash sampai sebati. Siap.

Gravy:
  1. Cairkan butter, tumis bawang putih dan bawang besar hingga garing. Masukkan kiub ayam knorr, air panas dan tepung jagung yang dah dibancuh dengan air.
  2. Blend kesemua sos sehingga hancur bawang yang telah digoreng
  3. Masak sos yang telah diblend hingga pekat


The mashed potatoes can now be served with the gravy! Try la, simple dan murah.
